In September 2006, I launched a new record label entitled Trademark. Later on, my close friends would claim I named it that because of my own sign off (TM), but in reality, I wanted something as generic as Factory, my favorite record label ever. Along with two discolored boxes as an icon, Trademark was launched. Two years later, we finally have a “real” web site. We put it out there tonight. Visit it at http://www.trademarkrecordings.com. It’s not complete, but it’s close.
If I had money and started a label, I’d sign TV on the Radio, Deerhunter, the Black Angels, the National, and…well, that’s about it. I’d probably lose money and die. So be it.

Anywho, please visit the site, criticize its shortcoming, despise its releases, and otherwise fuck yourselves. All feedback is welcome. And all players are welcome. Thank you. Goodnight and good luck.

Currently working on CSS, very minor PHP rewiring, catalogue taxonomy, e-commerce engine, #16, and the first micromix and the first digital 7″. And the first non-music releases (hint: you can wear some of them, you can read some of the others).
In related news, Conifer played Los Angeles last night and won over several new fans. It’s not very often that a.) I think a band performs well and b.) they think they performed well, but last night the perfect celestial alignments were in place. It’s been nice spending the past 48 hours with Zack, Shadley, Nate, Leif, and Camlin (and Lesbian broham/van driver/merch dude/shirtless guy Pete). LA only becomes a strange place when you forget the path you took to get here. Though many aspects of my memory are clouded over indefinitely, I know where I’ve been and (hopefully) know where I’m going.
Always go off.
[P.S.}
In the, “in case you are still reading” installment of this post, I’d like to add one additional thought, regardless of its randomness and non-relation to the above, purely because I don’t want to honor it with its own permalink.
Saying “I love you” indicates a feeling, not a timeframe. The problem with telling someone you love them is not in the phrase or the emotion, but in the infinite length it can supposedly suggest. “I love you” means I love you. It does not mean “I love you forever,” or “I love you regardless of these specific faults.” This armchair philosopher posits if we can take “until death do us part” out of the inferred meaning, there just may be a strong decline in murder/suicide statistics. XO.

My friends (and Trademark alumni) Conifer are on tour of the west coast now in support of “Crown Fire,” their new LP released by very awesome indie label Important. If you live in any of the cities they are hitting up, including Los Angeles, go and check them out.

Thank god I didn’t have to write it: http://metawitch.blogspot.com/2008/10/trademark-recordings-future-now.html
Thanks to Cam for posting this. He has inspired me to get off my ass and start working on 2.0 of the web site. We’ve got a Motherless Children album coming soon and then a retrospective multimedia compilation which touches upon everything we’ve done for the first two years. We’re going on a little retreat up north around Thanksgiving and plan to emerge from the woods of nowhere with some great new things…

Trademark turned two on September 17, and we didn’t mention it. No one likes to know they are getting older. Anyway, in celebration, we are working on the finishing touches of something for you, our dedicated fans: a very special and very free release. It will include something from every artist on Trademark in the form of music, video, and writing. And it will include some non-Trademark artists — just some special friends. More details will emerge soon. Be excited. It will coincide with the revamp of the long overdue web site. Patience is a virtue which we reward (or medicate). Thank you.

Trademark Recordings is proud to announce label master Thomas Mahoney and label slave Camerin Kelly, existing somewhere in the divide between best friends and arch-enemies, teaming up for several minutes of improvised psychedelic disaster, monolithic beauty, and acoustic interpretations of the end times. It’s this Saturday at the Hyperion Tavern in beautiful Silverlake, California. Arrive just after the time you’d normally be drunk, and it will happen. Thank you.
