MSNBC tried to run a story on a Ricin episode — a deadly chemical powder — in Las Vegas. Directly quoting:
But authorities do not know why the man had a vial of the power in his room.
So someone missed the power/powder misspell. That’s fine.
On the other hand, a little magazine called ROLLING STONE just ran a cover story on Jack Johnson. I don’t know who Jack Johnson is or what he sounds like. I assume he sounds like a stripped down version of the Barenaked Ladies. Anyway, I wanted to check out his newest effort, but ROLLING STONE prevented that. How? In their fucking COVER STORY they told me the album was called:
Sleep Between The Static.
But then, on the page directly opposite, they claimed the album was called:
Sleep Through The Static.
If anyone can tell me the correct name of this album, I’ll buy two copies, because Jack Johnson is surf buddies with Eddie Vedder, and last I heard, Travis Keller loves Pearl Jam.

Thanks to Gavin, I have joined my first ever fantasy sports league just as baseball’s spring training season is heating up. In honor of the mythical creature that lives in the reservoir near my house, I’ve named my team the Silverlake Monsters. You can look forward to updates all season long via my blog.

Surprise, surprise. This highly toxic group of drugs used for a variety of mental ills including depression, anxiety, social phobias, and eating disorders don’t really work at all.
Though I hate being on the side of Scientology, it is time Americans rethink their stance on prescription medications. Modern pharmacology is oft times nothing more than unproven witchcraft, albeit with huge financial backers.

“When you get the message, hang up the phone.” - Alan Watts
People can stop asking me questions or favors, because my answers are not yours, and your desires are not mine.

National Geographic has an interesting article up right now called, “The God Particle.” Here is an image from the front page:

I’m almost finished with Pinchbeck’s 2012. I’ll probably post a full review of it in a week or so. I’d say it’s about 70% amazing and 30% absolute garbage, but is to be expected from any book that falls under the “metaphysical” tag…

A period of stasis has entered my life. I feel much like Ross McElwee prior to and during the making of his magnificent documentary Sherman’s March: A Meditation on the Possibility of Romantic Love In the South During an Era of Nuclear Weapons.
However, my infatuation is neither women nor nuclear war, but rather a satellite scheduled to be potentially shot down Wednesday evening. Its name is USA 193. For several weeks, I’ve been obsessed with its short life, its ill-fated trip into space, and now its inevitable descent back into the foul womb which shot it out.
On the brighter side — if bright were a way to describe possible terror — we may be heading towards a Universal one. Check it out…

For lack of a better title, the List will be the only regularly appearing feature of this blog. It will include whatever I’m reading, listening to, watching, or otherwise into at the moment. It will also sporadically contain what I’m absolutely NOT into or otherwise completely opposed to at the moment.
